Millions of viewers tuned into the Super Bowl on February 11, not just for the game and halftime performances, but also for the much-anticipated commercials. Among the star-studded ads, Tina Fey’s Booking.com commercial featuring a surprise 30 Rock reunion stole the show, leaving comedy fans delighted.
Name That Tune Host Jane Krakowski Super Bowl Commercial
The commercial opens with Tina Fey enjoying a seaside villa vacation, humorously expressing the dilemma of choosing among the numerous options on Booking.com. “With so many choices on Booking.com, there are so many Tina Feys I could be.
So I hired body doubles to help me out,” she says. The audience is then treated to a montage of different Tinas, including Jane Krakowski reprising her role as 30 Rock’s Jenna Maroney.
In a whimsical turn, the scene shifts to a Wyoming cabin where Jack McBrayer, known for his role as NBC page Kenneth Parcell, is tending to “Rustic Tina,” a.k.a Bigfoot Tina. The absurdity peaks with the introduction of another body double, “Wild Tina,” portrayed by stage and screen legend Glenn Close. The extended version even features a confrontation between Tina Fey and Glenn Close, referred to as Fey’s “nemesis.”
The concept of Fey needing body doubles resonates with her busy schedule, including the recent release of the Mean Girls musical remake and her involvement in upcoming Netflix series like The Four Seasons and Girls5Eva.
Tina Fey’s 30 Rock wasn’t the only NBC sitcom making waves during the Super Bowl. Friends stars Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer reunited for an Uber Eats commercial, while Parks and Recreation’s Aubrey Plaza and Nick Offerman shared screen time riding dragons for Mountain Dew Baja Blast.
While viewers may not be able to hire their own body doubles, the breathtaking vistas featured in the 30 Rock Booking.com commercial are sure to evoke a desire to travel.
Mark Consuelos and Jane Krakowski Show
In a different realm of entertainment, morning show host Jane Krakowski and Mark Consuelos engaged in a playful game on Live with Kelly and Mark. Krakowski, having previously stumped Consuelos in a game of “Stump Mark,” initiated a rematch, adding an extra layer of excitement.
Dressed in an “I Stumped Mark” T-shirt from her previous victory, Krakowski presented Consuelos with two statements about her life. One story involved her seeing the musical Rent on stage 20 times, and the other recounted her participation in a New Jersey ice skating competition leading to another contest in Lake Placid, New York.
Despite the ticking clock, Krakowski maintained her composure, leaving Consuelos completely stumped by the end. In good spirits, Consuelos accepted the tale about Rent as true but was surprised when Krakowski claimed victory.
“Give me the shirt!” she exclaimed, playfully. Consuelos, with a smile on his face, walked off the set, only to return for a warm hug from both Krakowski and co-host Kelly Ripa.
